AlphaFlights — Real-Time Flight Tracker

What is AlphaFlights?

AlphaFlights is a free, real-time flight information service designed for travellers, aviation enthusiasts, and anyone who needs to know where a flight is right now. Enter any IATA flight number — such as TK1368, LH400, or BA178 — and instantly see a complete picture of that flight.

The interface is modelled after the departure boards found in airports — a monospace, dark-themed FIDS (Flight Information Display System) aesthetic that puts the data front and centre without distraction.

What you get

Scheduled & revised times

Departure and arrival times with any delay reflected immediately.

Gate & terminal info

Which gate and terminal the flight departs from and arrives at.

Live aircraft position

Real-time lat/lon, altitude, speed, and heading on an interactive map.

Flight progress timeline

A visual bar showing how far through the journey the aircraft is.

Weather at both airports

Current conditions and a 3-day forecast for departure and arrival.

Aircraft photo & details

Registration, aircraft type, and a photo of the actual aircraft.

Why we built it

Most flight tracking apps are cluttered with ads, require account registration, or bury the key information behind multiple taps. AlphaFlights was built with a single goal: give you the most important flight information as fast as possible, in a clean and readable format.

The service is completely free and supported by Google AdSense advertising. No account is required. No data about you is stored beyond standard server logs.

Technology

Open-Meteo

An open-source weather API providing high-resolution current conditions and 7-day forecasts. Used to display weather at both departure and arrival airports.

Google Maps

Renders the live aircraft position map with the aircraft marker updating in real time as new ADS-B position reports arrive.

Planespotters.net

Supplies high-quality aircraft photographs matched by registration number, giving each flight result a visual reference of the actual aircraft type.
